Magic Circle
Friend or foe?
I’ve always thought the magic circle was my friend. One reason may be because it was a Christmas gift from my family to me, the year my first instructor moved away. Second reason could be because it’s something that I’ve used to get stronger and gain confidence with in areas that I struggle with.
What do you find it useful for?
One of my instructors has used it for challenges to do at home. I needed help with my teaser for a long time. She would say, “Lets use this at home and do it together. We can hold one another accountable.” She knows I’m always up for a challenge, especially if I will gain something from it. These things make me love this accessory. I’m curious, what makes you love the Magic Circle?
It’s universal!
You can incorporate the Magic Circle into almost any workout, really. Mat exercises – done! Chair – a whole new level of difficulty! Ladder barrel – you got this! Tower – OMG, I love it! Reformer – no problem! It’s a good way to help keep your arms connected in their shoulder girdle while doing stomach series, warm ups, any sort of twisting, and much more. When you’re on the tower you can use it for a new challenge with your legs, while using the push through bar (spring from below).
What are some ways you enjoy incorporating the magic circle into your practice? Leave me a note because I’d love to share and connect!
