Core Compassion Project helps those going through breast cancer treatment by offering Pilates lessons, lymphedema sleeves and fitness bras through their scholarship programs.
I learned about Jill Hinson and Core Compassion Project after seeing posts on Instagram of them working with one of their amazing clients. Years later, while at Momentumfest they had a table, and I met Jill and several board members. After speaking to them I knew I would want to be an affiliate once I became a teacher. Fastforward a few more years and after two of my clients were diagnosed with breast cancer during my first year of teaching, I became a CCP affiliate in December of 2022. I have since taken courses to understand how Pilates can assist thrivers.
I am so proud to be affiliated with this group as they do wonderful work for the breast cancer community. As an affiliate I can provide lessons to those who have been granted a scholarship. I believe that movement heals and being able to meet the client where they are is of the utmost importance.

My client, Teresa D, was granted a scholarship in Spring of 2023. Here is what she has to say about the program:
“I learned about the Core Compassion Project through my group Pilates teacher at the time, Stacey E. I had taken her tower class at our local JCC and then was soon after diagnosed with stage IB breast cancer. I had to have a lumpectomy and re-excision (another surgery to clear margins) and was working on OT when I reached out to Stacey. We set up a few one-on-one sessions in Spring 2022, but I knew there was no way I could afford more than that. Fast forward through surgery recovery, a summer of chemotherapy, and 6 weeks of radiation, and I was beat but ready to work on my road to recovery and reclaim my health by the time 2023 rolled around. With all the medical bills and unforeseen costs (velcro bra anyone? How about a seatbelt pillow?), I was incredibly grateful to find out about CCP. Stacey did many of the book’s exercises during our initial lessons, before I was accepted into the program so I had some familiarity with the method. Soon after starting my CCP scholarship lessons with Stacey, I started training with an all female-cancer-survivor team for a sprint triathlon. I know I couldn’t have maintained the flexibility and stamina for the rigorous 14 week, medically supervised training, had it not been for my concurrent lessons with Stacey. She helped me become more confident and prouder of my new, strong body. I have since successfully completed a sprint triathlon and loved it! I’m feeling optimistic about my health. I am so grateful to Stacey & CCP and eager to share my story with other breast cancer survivors. I want them to know how CCP can help them.”
