Park Cities Pilates Center
May 2018
My SIL and I took a road trip to Dallas and I found Park Cities Pilates to be close to where I was staying. It is a Romana trained studio with a teachers training program. Since I am practicing a classical method I knew I would be familiar with the flow and practice.
The studio has great natural light, which I adore. They had a very comfortable lobby which had windows opening into the studio. The studio had a lot of equipment but still felt open and allowed for privacy between the student and instructor.
When we began I instantly felt at home with the movement but as we continued, there were slight variations. Amy challenged me by having me holding the flow where I would normally cruise right through. During backstroke, for example, she had me holding my legs long for a breathe. I was working for it during this lesson. I needed that too because I drove 16 hours to get to Dallas. My body was desperate to bend and lengthen.
I found Amy to be very comfortable to talk to, discussing my body and where I am strong or can improve in my practice.
By the end of the pilates lesson…
I was feeling awakened. Sweaty but stronger physically, mentally and emotionally.
